Atascosa County has quietly become one of the most active acreage markets in our service area, largely because of its position. It is close enough to San Antonio to commute from Lytle or Pleasanton, and far enough out that land still trades at rural pricing.

The county carries a genuine agricultural identity — Poteet is known statewide for strawberries — alongside sandy-soil brush country that hunts well. The Eagle Ford footprint touches the southern end, bringing the same mineral considerations found in Frio County.

Smaller tracts in the five-to-fifty acre range move quickly here. Larger ranch holdings come available less often and tend to draw regional buyers.
